How much power can a tuned 335i E92 make?

With EuroLab’s MHD custom dyno tune, a stock 335i E92 typically makes 360–370hp at Stage 1 (software only). Stage 2 with supporting bolt-ons pushes 420–450hp, and with upgraded turbos the N54 platform regularly sees 600–700+hp. All figures are SAE J1349-corrected on our Mainline CCS3600 hub dynamometer.

How much does it cost to tune a 335i or 135i in Auckland?

MHD OTS (self-flash at home) starts from ~$655 for the license plus $189 for the WiFi adapter. EuroLab’s MHD custom dyno tune is $2,500 incl. GST — this includes baseline dyno run, custom calibration for your specific car, and final validation pulls on our Mainline hub dyno.

Is Stage 2 safe on the N54?

Yes — the N54 has a cast iron block and forged crankshaft from factory, making it extremely robust for Stage 2 power levels. The key is supporting the tune with proper hardware: upgraded charge pipe, downpipes, and an intake. We recommend a crank seal guard as cheap insurance against catastrophic belt ingestion failure.

What is MHD tuning and how does it work?

MHD is the most popular OTS (off-the-shelf) tuning platform for BMW engines. Using the MHD app and a WiFi adapter, you can flash pre-built maps to your ECU via the OBD2 port. EuroLab also uses MHD as the flashing platform for our custom dyno calibrations — the MHD app is the delivery method, but the tune file itself is developed in-house on our Mainline dyno.

Do I need a transmission tune for my 335i?

Highly recommended. The xHP Flashtool transmission tune improves shift speed, reduces shift delay, holds gears longer under throttle, and raises torque limiters. OTS xHP starts from $389 (6-speed auto) and we also offer custom xHP transmission tunes from $1,389.

Can EuroLab service and repair N54 engines as well as tune them?

Absolutely. We’re a full-service workshop specialising in European vehicles. We handle N54 diagnostics, oil leaks (OFHG, valve cover), turbo replacements (PureTurbos), injector issues, HPFP failures, and complete engine builds. We’ve been building and tuning N54s since 2015.
