How It Works — Our Tuning Process

Every EuroLab custom tune follows the same rigorous 4-step process.

🔍

1. Consultation & Health Check

We inspect your vehicle, check for fault codes, and discuss your goals. No tuning happens on a car with underlying issues.

📈

2. Baseline Dyno Run

Your car goes on our Mainline CCS3600 hub dynamometer for baseline power and torque measurements — SAE J1349-corrected for honest, repeatable numbers.

🔧

3. Custom Calibration

We develop your tune file in-house, making iterative adjustments on the dyno. Fuel maps, boost targets, ignition timing — all calibrated for your specific car, mods, and NZ 98 RON fuel.

4. Final Validation & Handover

Final power pulls to confirm gains, data review with you, and a road test. You leave with your dyno sheet and a car that performs exactly as promised.

BMW M2 Competition / CS Tuning FAQs

How much power does a tuned M2 Competition make?

With EuroLab’s MHD custom dyno tune, the M2 Competition (410hp stock) typically makes around 500hp at Stage 1. The M2 CS (450hp stock) reaches similar numbers. Stage 2 pushes to 520–560hp. All figures SAE J1349-corrected on our Mainline CCS3600 hub dynamometer.

How much does it cost to tune an M2 Competition in Auckland?

MHD OTS (self-flash) is ~$993 for the S55 license plus $189 for the WiFi adapter. EuroLab’s MHD custom dyno tune is $2,500 incl. GST. xHP DCT tune (OTS) from $769. No FEMTO or bench unlock required for F87 models.

Is the M2 Competition faster than the M2 N55 when tuned?

At Stage 1, the M2 Competition (S55 twin-turbo, ~500hp tuned) is significantly faster than the M2 N55 (410hp tuned). The S55’s twin-turbo design has a much higher ceiling. However, the N55 M2 is lighter and has a different character. Both are brilliant to drive.

Can I tune a manual M2 Competition?

Yes. MHD ECU tuning works identically on manual and DCT M2 Competitions. The manual obviously doesn’t benefit from an xHP transmission tune, but the ECU tune delivers the same power gains. The manual M2 Competition is one of the best driver’s cars BMW has ever made.

What makes the M2 CS special?

The M2 CS has the full S55 engine from the M4 Competition (450hp), upgraded brakes, carbon fibre panels, and adaptive suspension. For tuning, it starts from a higher baseline but reaches similar Stage 1 numbers as the M2 Competition. The CS is the ultimate collectors’ M2.

Is the M2 Competition S55 reliable for daily driving with a tune?

Yes. Stage 1 is well within the S55’s limits for daily use. The main reliability item to watch is the crank hub — we recommend a crank hub fix for any S55 being pushed hard or beyond Stage 1. Regular servicing and quality oil are essential.
