Every tune is performed in our East Tamaki workshop using professional tuning platforms. For Stage 1 and Stage 2, we use proven, thoroughly tested calibrations that have been developed and refined across hundreds of European vehicles — so dyno verification isn’t usually necessary. But for customers who want to go further, we offer custom dyno tuning on our Mainline CCS3600 hub-coupled chassis dynamometer — a bespoke tune tailored to your specific engine. Every engine is different: mileage, service history, and how the car has been driven all affect engine health. A custom dyno tune accounts for these variables, extracting the maximum safe power from your particular car rather than relying on a generic map.

Tuning Stages Explained
Stage 1 — ECU Remap Only
The best bang-for-buck upgrade on any European car. A Stage 1 tune is a software-only ECU remap that optimises boost pressure, fuel delivery, and ignition timing within the safe limits of your stock hardware. Typical gains: 30–80hp depending on the engine. No physical modifications needed — fully reversible, and your car still drives perfectly as a daily.

Stage 2 — Tune + Bolt-Ons
Stage 2 combines an aggressive ECU tune with supporting bolt-on hardware modifications: typically a performance downpipe, upgraded intercooler, and high-flow intake. These mods remove the airflow restrictions that limit Stage 1 gains. Typical results: 80–150hp+ over stock. The sweet spot for enthusiasts who want serious power while retaining reliability.

Stage 3+ — Full Build
Stage 3 takes things further with turbo upgrades (or conversion), fuelling upgrades (injectors, fuel pump, E85 flex), built gearbox, and a full custom dyno tune. This is where we unlock 500–1,000hp+. Each Stage 3 build is a bespoke project tailored to your goals, budget, and intended use. For extreme builds beyond Stage 3, forged engine internals and fully built bottom ends come into play.

Will a Stage 1 tune void my warranty?
A Stage 1 ECU remap is detectable if a dealer specifically checks for it. However, it is fully reversible — we can flash your ECU back to stock at any time. Many customers run Stage 1 on daily drivers for years without issues.
How much power will I gain from Stage 1?
Typical Stage 1 gains range from 30–80hp depending on your engine. Turbocharged engines (which most modern Europeans are) see the biggest gains from a software tune. We provide exact expected figures during your consultation.
Is Stage 2 worth the extra cost over Stage 1?
If you want more than ~15–20% over stock, yes. Stage 1 extracts what the stock hardware allows. Stage 2 removes the bottlenecks (exhaust, intercooler, intake) so the engine can breathe properly at higher boost levels. The jump from Stage 1 to Stage 2 is significant.
Can you tune my car for E85 ethanol fuel?
Yes. We offer E85 and flex-fuel tuning for many European platforms. E85 provides significant power gains (10–20% more than pump fuel) due to its higher octane rating and cooling properties. Requires fuel system upgrades on some vehicles.
How long does a tune take?
It depends on the vehicle. Some ECU platforms like BMW can be flashed in about an hour, while others — particularly some Mercedes engines — can take a full day due to more complex ECU security and calibration processes. Stage 2 with parts installation is usually a full day or more. Stage 3 builds are multi-day to multi-week projects depending on scope. We’ll give you an accurate timeframe during your consultation.
Do you offer ECU tuning for non-European cars?
